Al-Munya in Sicily — Al-Funduq as-Siqilli
Al-Munya is the guesthouse, a distinct body, with its own entrance and the same crest. In Sicily it stands beside Al-Funduq as-Siqilli. It is a distinct subject, with a patrimony of its own.

Inside, two houses identical to those of Fez: Dar al-Asl, where the guests of the House lodge without charge; and Dar al-Diyafa, where the nudamāʾ and their guests lodge against payment.
The two houses within
Dar al-Asl lodges without charge the guests of the House; Dar al-Diyafa lodges the nudamāʾ and their guests, and the proceeds remain with Al-Munya.
Al-Munya pays the House a fixed annual sum, never a percentage of revenue; in Sicily it is Dar al-Diyafa, carried by a distinct vehicle with its own investors, that pays it to Al-Funduq. Dar al-Diyafa has no voice in the deliberations of Al-Funduq. Any request for hospitality may be refused.
An-Nudama names the ninety-nine founders: a treasury of their own, which funds the House. It is not a house, and membership confers no right of admission to the House. When they stay, the nudamāʾ are paying guests of Dar al-Diyafa, with no room of their own.
What does not change
Apprentices on trial sleep in the dormitories of the House, never in Al-Munya. The rule of the threshold, the separation of entrances and the fixed fee are the same as in Fez.

At the Fondaco, once the collapsed part of the east wing is raised again, the workshops will move there, and the spaces looking onto the central courtyard will be able to receive a salsabīl and a channel reaching the basin set flush with the floor.
